Advancing USC's strategic vision for teaching with technology

Instructional Design & Technology Consulting

ITS Learning Design & Technology (LD&T) assesses needs, explores options, makes recommendations, and provides resources for teaching all along the eLearning continuum. We work with instructors interested in maximizing the features of their course websites, as well as with faculty who want to try new approaches such as “flipping a class” or introducing multimedia assignments. Services include:

  • Instructional Design Consultation
Based on the instructor’s needs, we identify teaching strategies and/or assignments that follow best practices for using media, technology solutions, and the affordances of learning environments to support them.
  • Technology Consultation
We identify technology solutions according to instructors’ needs and interests. Depending on capacity, we can also collaborate with faculty in experimenting with and assessing technologies that have the potential to increase efficiency and facilitate course administration.
  • Grant Writing
For grant proposals with a technology component, we are available to assist with describing technology choices, lifecycle support, benefits, and risks. Upon request, LD&T will also consider partnering on select grants.

To request an appointment with one of our consultants, plesae email learningdesign@usc.edu. Services are provided at no direct cost to the USC academic community.
